Kwento Ni Toto shares another film to watch out for. Continuing the celebration of its grand 20th anniversary, Star Cinema opens the second quarter of the year with a blast of a big bang of hilarious and out of this world antics as Vhong Navarro makes a grand comeback to the big screen in Da Possessed.
After seven (7) long years of being out of the big screen, Vhong Navarro finally makes a comeback to topnotch another hit comedy movie. Three of his most unforgettable and most profitable comedy films Star Cinema has ever produced was Mr. Suave in 2003 D' Anothers in 2005 and Agent X44 in 2007 in which all are directed by Joyce Bernal. These are just some of the movies with great tandem of Director Joyce Bernal and Vhong Navarro. A winning tandem reunited in the film Da Possessed to bring another hit comedy film that will make millions of Filipinos shake and roar cinemas with laughter.
During the blog conference of the movie Da Possessed Director Joyce Bernal shared what makes his movies a hit is because of his different sense of humor, a manly, witty, naughty sense of humor. She even shared that her favorite comedy films and TV series were the ones starred by the great TRIO. Perhaps that's where she base most of her comedy films like the slapstick acts, etc.
The story of the Da Possessed were written by Athena Aringo-Tengco, Ays De Guzman and Antoinette Jadaone, Da Possessed is a joint project of Star Cinema and Regal Films. The story is about the peculiar story of simpleton Ramon who attempts to venture into landscape art. Ramon falls for his sexy boss but conflict begins when spirits from another world start to possess his body thus igniting a series of whacky and riotous events. Imagine a guy being possessed by three spirits, what do you think will be the outcome.
Kwento Ni Toto asked whether the character of Ana which was played by Solenn Heussaff is inspired by the character of a Japanese metal heroes. If you're a fan of Japanese metal heroes you'll definitely know the character who shows off her undergarments whenever the series starts. One of the writer responded that who wouldn't know the character for those who knows the TV series always watch attentively and waiting for this character to shows up with her undergarments. Just like what Director Joyce Bernal shared her comedy are witty, naughty and from a mans point of view.
Vhong Navarro, aside from looking funny as it is, he even go beyond his character just to bring the best comedy out in this film. The tandem of Vhong and Joyce is simply shows during the blog conference as they act, move and talk as if they already know each other for a very long time. It's like having Vhong and Joyce work as one.
Vhong shared that “It has always been my philosophy to always be happy and I want to spread all happiness that I can through my work notjust as an actor butas a dancer and TV host as well.” He even added that “I am both overwhelmed and overjoyed with the solid support of ABS-CBN, Star Cinema and my fans. We worked very hard to make sure that everyone would enjoy Da Possessed. We should all enjoy life together and we should all laugh together.”
Da Possessed is Solenn Heussaff's very first film under Star Cinema. “This is definitely a major milestone in my career,” says Solenn and added that “It's such an honor to work with Vhong, Direk Joyce, Star Cinema and Regal Films in this awesome project.” Also during the blog conference Solenn disclosed that she's a big fan of Vhong and she has a crush on him. One that she likes most is Vhong being a funny guy.
Also starring in Da Possessed is an assembly of the country's finest comedians and character actors led by John Sweet Lapus, Empoy, Smokey Manaloto, Beverly Salviejo, Lito Pimentel, Joy Viado, Matet De Leon, Aaliyah Belmoro, and Joey Marquez.
Da Possessed will start everyone to laugh on April 19 in cinemas nationwide.
